We are well into a cold, wet, windy and dark winter. It’s important to wrap up for the right weather conditions and temperatures to insure we are responsible for our own, our dogs and other peoples safety. Here are a few tips to help keep safe during a dark night.
We can equip our furry friends with reflective pads or LED lit coats and collars to help visibility to a motorist or any other walkers. The further away someone can see you and your dog the better, it allows both us and them a time to react and plan ahead.
Remember just like us dogs can get tired and cold too. Most dogs spend a large amount of their time inside nice warm houses and are not used to an extreme cold weather change, this could result in a cough or even hypothermia. Don’t be afraid to shorten your walk for the temperature and weather conditions.

It’s easy to forget that our dogs are cold or possibly at risk because they are having so much fun, unfortunately sometimes they don’t know when to stop or what risk they are at. Be smart, be responsible and be loved.
